CAGR Investments (pronounced kay-gur) is a private equity vehicle I started to build and buy automation-first companies. Here's some history. I sold my mobile app agency in my thirties. Still, I was playing small ball. After over a decade of working in big tech, I came to terms with the fact that I was undervaluing myself. So I created my own game. I started CAGR to play by my rules and help others earlier in their journey. More specifically, I wanted to create a vehicle to help others explore their version of financial independence through business ownership. Five tenets inform my investments. Lead with automation. Keep teams small. Obsess over operational excellence. Play the long game. Prioritize free cash flow (FCF). I'm betting my own money that zero-employee corporations are going to be a thing. Love or hate that idea? Give me a shout to discuss. I'm on LinkedIn.
The economics of digital products will be the first to be materially disrupted by AI. Time for new entrants. CAGR is investing in automation-first media and software companies designed for cash flow and to never grow beyond 12 people.
Investing in raw land in the Pacific Northwest. Developing modern 2-4 unit build-to-rent properties and shovel-ready lots. Strict standardization in materials, plans, and processes. Contact grow@cagr.com if you have land to sell.
Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) is a business and investing term for the geometric progression ratio that provides a constant rate of return over a given time. Despite the term's negative connotation after Wall Street Bros popularized it, I love this concept. I use this formula as a compass to guide the firm's growth. Not only for how I make money but how I help others to do the same. It's all about compounding growth. This concept applies to personal growth, relationships, and wealth. There are plenty of ways to make money. Unfortunately, many corporations, educators, folks in the media, and institutional investors will mislead you into believing there is a "best way" to make money. That's not true. What's most important is that you have the self-awareness to follow the path optimized for what you want and what you are willing to spend to get it. CAGR Investments is a place that celebrates people who leverage their unique skill stack and maintain their own professional charter. Mine is simple: Know thyself. Make things. Stay free.
